Jeff Ripple

Jeff Ripple, a fine art landscape photographer and natural history author, grew up in South Florida. He has devoted nearly half of his life to exploring and documenting the natural wonders of Florida and the South. With a passion for the influence of light on textures, shadows, and colors in the landscape, Jeff seeks to capture moments that reflect his devotion to protecting the natural environment. Using primarily a 4x5 field camera, Ripple photographs with slow, fine-grained color transparency and black & white negative films to provide images that are sharp and free of apparent grain. In order to convey a true impression of nature, Jeff does no computer manipulation of his images during printing.

His work, which includes 10,000 35mm and several hundred 4x5 images of Florida wildlife, plants, geology, aerials, and environmental degradation, is represented in a growing number on individual, corporate, and museum collections. Currently, Jeff lives with his wife, Renee, and their three cats, Tabatha, Suwannee, and Natalie, in a small house in the woods outside Gainesville, Florida.
